6 Delicious and Healthy Snacks
We all have moments when we’re insatiably hungry for a snack. Instead of turning to those chocolate bars and ice cream, here are some healthier alternatives.
Kale Chips
Kale chips are delicious and easy to make, Simply coat the kale with a bit of olive oil, salt and spices like paprika, and bake until it’s nice and crispy.
Fruits
If you’re not “that” hungry, try cutting up a banana, orange or apple. Sometimes, just a little bit of fruits can fill you up for the night and make you crave less for a full fledged meal. That has worked for me on multiple occasions.
Sweet Potatoes
Whether you’re baking, roasting or steaming them, they are a great and sweet treat. The best thing is, you can just throw some in the oven for an hour or two and they taste fantastic. I’ve always thought of sweet potatoes as cake, as the texture can be so similar. My favourites are white and purple sweet potatoes. You can also make them into chips or wedges and add spices. Sweet potatoes go very well with cinnamon!
Kashi Heart to Heart Roasted Garlic Crackers
After searching for so long for healthy crackers, I almost couldn’t believe this one was true. Unfortunately, you probably can only get this in the US but it’s so delicious that even if you try and make it, it would be worthwhile!
Handful of Nuts
Studies have shown that a handful of nuts each day can reduce heart disease by lowering bad cholesterol levels. Visit my article on the healthiest nuts to see the healthiest six nuts.
Xinjiang Raisins
These look so beautiful and divine that I would forever miss out the meaning of life if I don’t have them right this minute! Xinjiang raisins are special in that they’re air-dried by the hot desert air and because they’re not sun-dried, a lot of the green colour and fruity flavour is kept. You can try buying them online here.
