Eating Vegetarian at Blossom Asian Bistro
Address: 1490 State Route 23, Wayne, NJ 07470
I know this is one of those specific location restaurants and unless you live int he area, you probably won’t get to go there, but I wanted to write this up as a dining experience because many Asian restaurants are similar so it may help for those wishing to eat vegan.
I really love the food here, it’s very tasty and wonderful! As you know, I eat mostly a vegan diet (limiting to a small amount of meat once every few weeks), and today I went there – wanting to go vegan, so here’s some food I ordered.
(Excuse the darkness of these photos, it was indoors and not a lot of light came through.)
Miso Soup
This is something I always love, miso soup is simple and filling for an appetiser, because you don’t want to be too full, but you also want some kind of food in your stomach so you don’t end up overeating. I really love the miso soup there!
Scallion Pancakes
Oh yes, those scallion pancakes were to die for! I wish I could make them like that, flaky and delicious.
Steamed Vegetable Dumplings
p>Now this was my favourite meal, I think I’ll order this all the time now! It’s a soft, green dumpling with vegetables inside. I absolutely love the taste, it’s not too sweet or salty, and really perfect for my taste. I also love that it’s steamed, and the dumpling skin is green. Hands down, my favourite meal in this entire restaurant!
I ordered two servings of it, along with brown rice.
Actually, something really cool about this place is the brown rice is more like red rice, which tastes even better and healthier!
Sauteed Vegetables
OMG this tastes so good, it’s got quite a combination of veggies, including mushrooms, peppers, broccoli, beans and such. Though the sauce was a tiny bit sweet, it was just so divine tasting that I had to order two more bowls of brown rice to go with it.
