Grilled Tofu Steaks and Leek
(Yields: 1 plate, Serving: 2, Prep time: 10 mins, Cook time: 12 mins)
Ingredients
Tofu & Marinade
- 1/3 block extra firm dried tofu
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon white cooking wine
- 1 teaspoon low sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- A few sprinkles pepper
- A sprinkle of Himalayan/Sea salt
Other Ingredients
- 1 Leek
- 1 teaspoon extra light olive oil
- A few sprinkles pepper
- A sprinkle of Himalayan/Sea salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C).
Cut the tofu in slices (not to thick or thin).
Add the marinade spices in the bowl and toss and turn it around until the spices are soaking in the tofu.
Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes, flipping them over half way through.
Meanwhile, wash and chop the leek into small pieces.
Add a teaspoon of extra light olive oil in a frying pan and turn the heat to medium high. Add the leeks, salt and pepper.
Saute for about 10 minutes until it becomes soft and a little browned.
Take the tofu steaks out of the oven and into the frying pan.
Briefly saute for a minute or two.
