Susanna’s Guide to Health and Happiness
Life is precious and short. Live it, and breathe it.
Everyone wants to find happiness and health, and sometimes we may not even see it, because it’s hiding in a corner somewhere. I will give you all the tips and advice I can for finding true health and happiness.
The absolute most important thing:
Feed your body the nourishment it deserves. This is basically what I pour down my body every single day (though only half of it because my hubby has the other half).
Just look at that rainbow fruits and vegetables. I absolutely guarantee you that if you have this much fresh, organic fruits and veggies each day, it will make a world’s difference and you are very likely to feel it too!
All you need to do is get a high powered blender (preferably Vitamix) and stuff them down and blend it into a big, thick, juicy smoothie and I also must tell you, the taste is REALLY wonderful, it does not taste awful or weird.
It will most likely taste like fruit juice to you! Once your body has all of that, then we can get down to business!
Besides that, another important thing: Get enough sleep!
Now that we have two of the most important things made clear, I can continue.
Start with Positive Affirmations for the Day
I have a perfectly healthy body and mind
I am healing now
I love and approve of myself
Abundance flows into my life in surprising ways every day
Life flows effortlessly
All my relationships are harmonious

In the Mind of Happiness
Happiness is a journey worth pursing and I believe everyone has the ability to find true happiness – the type that makes you giggle like a child.
Sometimes, we need to remember that sadness is a part of happiness. We’re built to feel sad about certain things, that’s our mind and body’s way of telling us that something needs to be done.
Think of sadness as a signal to change something. Of course, not everything is changeable and something like grief is hard to get over, and that’s when you need to allow time to do the work.
Sometimes, you need to ask yourself: What am I passionate about? Can I base my career on something I love, rather than what I’m forced to do because I’m good, or because it gets me a job.
Of course, sometimes you need to do things you don’t like, but I truly believe we can only thrive and love life, if we are doing something we love. Otherwise, I fail to see the meaning of life.
Love Yourself
When I say “love yourself”, I mean give your body what it deserves: Respect, nourishment, energy and fun. We need to respect ourselves, because every single person in the world deserves that. There’s no “this person should get less respect”, you are not an exception and deserve as much respect as anyone else in the world. No matter what people tell you, you know in your heart who you are, and be proud of the person you are!
You need good nourishment, and that comes from tasty, yet nutrient rich foods. Who says we have to eat boring and disgusting foods to stay healthy? No way in the world! You’d be surprised just how many delicious things you can make to replace all the things you love, particular desserts.
Have you tried making homemade healthy nutella?
You also need energy, and I believe that comes from doing things you love. Whether it’s going to a place you want to go, or being with someone, or planning a project, you deserve to have fun, at least once every day!
Sip on Green Tea and Lemon Water
Start your day with lemon water, and don’t forget to drink green tea. Both are so good for you!
Blend the Goodness of Fruits and Veggies
Did you know if you put kale, broccoli and carrot in with berries, banana, apple and other fruits, you cannot taste it? Try it! IF you are too busy to eat your daily veggies, this will be the easiest way. Green smoothies (or any colour) are just so delicious and to die for!
Aim to have Healthy Daily Routines
Read my 10 daily healthy routines to learn what I do.
My main way of staying healthy is focusing mainly on a vegetarian based diet, with a small amount of meat or fish as a treat once a week. Believe me, vegetarian diets does not need to be bland, boring or horrible. Get your creative juices running and cook up a storm. Check all the recipes on this website, as most of them are vegetarian!
Remember, eating healthy isn’t about taking away or giving up foods you love, but to find ones that taste equally good, but is packed with good stuff for your body! For example, swap regular desserts for raw desserts, made of nuts, seeds, oats, almonds, dates, avocado, chia seeds and superfood.
Don’t let the Inner Child in you Slip Away
As we get older, we feel as if we have to act more like adults. People give us pressure and seem to make us feel as if certain things are for children. NO WAY! Don’t believe that. Who’s to say we can’t enjoy a picture book? Who’s to say we can’t spend an afternoon watching our favourite animation/cartoon? Who’s to say we can’t wear colours of the rainbow? Nobody makes those rules and you should never have to feel that you’re too old to play!
Connect with Nature
When was the last time you touched the soil with your bare hands? When I did that, it felt great. I was touching something real. The earthly smell just added a boost of energy in me. Sometimes living in a technological world can make us forget everything about the outside world. I believe we all need to go outside once in a while and smell the scent of freshly cut grass.
Don’t forget to listen to Music
(This instrumental fills me with inspiration.)
I can’t explain how much music has impacted my life. When I was left with little inspiration, music brought it back. When I needed something to pass time, music helped me. Always have a playlist of songs you love to listen to, particularly when you’re working out!
Don’t forget the Simple Pleasures in Life
Feeling running water in your hands.
Put your blanket in the sun for a day. I guarantee you will fall in love with the smell.
Remember how good it felt after a shower.
Finding a website or talking to a person that really inspired you.
The sound of rain and thunder, when you’re cozy inside at night.
Feeling nostalgic after watching a show you used to watch, listening to a song that reminded you of something, or smelling something that had the scent of “home”.
The amazing feeling after a long chat with someone you love.
Start a 365 Gratitude Project and Dream List
Sometimes, happiness is when we appreciate the good things in our lives. What better way to show gratitude than to do a fun little project on it? Each day, post a photo with a description of something (or someone) you are grateful for. It could be anything, like a person who has made a difference in your life, an event, animal, or even a personal battle with yourself. You may even want to share it with the person you are writing about or do something fun like post a message in a bottle.
Write a list of dreams you want to accomplish on a notepad and do one thing each day to work towards them. Doing something towards your dreams give you hopeful feelings.
Finally, I want to say this to you:
And leave you with this message:
“Let us be nourished together, let us grow together, let us withstand this treacherous weather, experience wind and rain, and emerge to become even stronger than before.”- Seven of the Sky
