Be Brave and Step Outside your Comfort Zone

Do you secretly want to do something crazy, but you’re ruled by fear? Do you really want to go skydiving, or travel the country alone, or jump in the Great Barrier Reef, but you have no idea how to even begin? I want to give you some encouragement, to help you step outside your comfort zone.

I was browsing the web and I found this picture:

WOW, I suddenly got the urge to just SHARE IT EVERYWHERE!

I can’t begin to tell you how true this is.

I think most of us, me included, simply live each day in the same house, doing almost the same things. We don’t really think too much about doing something wild unless we’re really given a jolt, such as: Someone or something gives us a wake up call – Do something you really want, before it’s too late.

I think the biggest stumbling block for us is that we don’t know what’s out there. For example, we may want to jump off the sky and fly in the air, but we’re thinking too much about “what if…” Same as if we want to tour an unknown country or state alone. We may be thinking that we couldn’t do it. In other words, we’re ruled by fear.

Now, that’s not a bad thing, it’s just your body trying to do its best to protect you.

Remember when you first get the syllabus for the university year, and you simply feel overwhelmed and that you can’t do it? This is almost the same thing. If you push yourself a little, you may just find yourself able to do it, and your entire attitude will change.

Once you have braved something that was a huge challenge to you, you may feel that ANYTHING is possible.

I guess this is where I really find motivation. I used to think that it was just too hard to go and meet someone, or that if I rode on the plane myself, I surely wouldn’t make it. I think what you need to do is envision yourself being able to do it. Know that there’s ALWAYS a way to work something out. You’ll probably be able to do it naturally when you reach that step. We, people are very powerful, amazing beings, and we’re much smarter and able-minded than we give ourselves credit for.

Why do we seem to always feel that we can’t do something? Perhaps it’s people around you making you feel as if you shouldn’t. Perhaps you need to do it once, so that you believe in yourself. Whatever it is, go out there and be brave!

Venture out of your comfort zone, do some crazy and fun things, and live life with no regrets!
